The Brother Tour is the first tour by Irish boy band, Boyzone following the death of Stephen Gately. They will be playing arenas all over the UK and finish with 4 Irish dates including a homecoming show at the O2 in Dublin. Production of the tour cost £1 million.
Background
At first the band were uncertain about promoting Brother but due to the album's success they decided to go on tour. The tour is going to involve the band singing all of their singles which they have released on top of their songs on the brother album. They promoted the tour on breakfast programme, Daybreak on the 10th February 2011. [3] The band attempted to have a hologram of Stephen Gately but this wasn't possible but there will be pictures of him that have been unseen.[4] The tour made £6,000,000 ($10,000,000) including the four dates remaining and 157,221 fans attended the tour.
Show incidents and events
Keith Duffy fell through a trap door at the Cardiff Gig but he continued until the end and was checked at hospital where there was nothing broken.[5] Comedy duo Ant and Dec performed "When the going gets tough" as part of their programme Ant & Dec's Push The Button on ITV1 from the Boyzone's concert in Cardiff.[6]

Tour Reviews
The tour has received one of the best reviews that Boyzone have ever done, a fan who watched the Manchester gig commented "I was bowled over & loved every minute of the show. All the songs were performed fantastically & the encore, when they came into the crowd right next to us was brill. Thanks to you all Boyzone, I'll never forget the evening". [14] For the Birmingham Chronicle Express and Star commented "The band opened the show with new track Too Late for Hallelujah with the boys rising through the stage on hydraulic platforms. “Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham went on to share their reservations about carrying on without Stephen. But judging by the fans’ reaction to their grand entrance it was the right decision. All the old favourites Picture of You and Love Me For A Reason, No Matter What and When the Going Gets Tough all got the crowd on their feet singing along. The striking backing dancers, who appeared on stage throughout the show, gave it a stylish edge. They also belted out a few songs from the Brother album such as Til The Sun Goes Down and Ruby, which is sure to be a hit."[15]
